WHAT DOES A LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT DO?

“A landscape architect, studies, plans, manages urban, rural and natural landscapes, over the time and the space, based on its own properties and the historical and cultural values of the place.
In order to be able to work, landscape architects use appropriate technologies, naturals or man-made materials, guided by aesthetics, functional, scientific principles and planning, which are essential to them.”

Landscape Architects (in Spain, France, landscaper) plan and design landscape and open spaces, for projects as parks, schools, institutions, paths, external spaces of shopping centres, industry and residential spaces. They also plan and monitor construction, maintenance, management and rehabilitation:

Developing and improving theory and methodology to advise in politics on landscape architecture.

To Compile

Collecting information about geographic and ecologic aspects, visual characteristics, structures made by humans, making recommendations about the use and development of soil, viability studies and environmental impact studies.

To Inspect

Visiting and inspecting the territory and open spaces to advise public administrations and customers about, type, style, dimensioning parks, lanes, constructions, etc…

To Prepare

Structuring data, strategic plans, technical plans, specifications and assessing costs for development projects, showing location and details in the proposal, including earthworks, structures, vegetation and access…

To Define

Defining and documenting protocols and specifications, creating contractual documents for the constructors and civil engineers, so that coordinating tenders in representation of the customers.

To Identify

Identifying the building or rehab working, ensuring compliance of mandatory specifications and quality standards.

To Contact

Sustaining necessary relationship to ensure the workable of projects, in terms of style, schedule, integration in regulatory framework. Likewise keeping technical relationships and consulting with another relevant specialist.
