ECOLOGICAL RESTORATION
The profession and the work of the Landscape architects have evolved from the traditional design of gardens, to the application of their knowledge to the protection of existing landscapes, harmonizing, through planning and design, the challenges of the shortage of natural resources and the problems derived from climate change.
We are currently taking a step further, becoming a profession for the future: the ecological restoration. Recover degraded ecosystems and reverse them, is the new challenge for landscape architects.
The ecological restoration with scientific bases provides interesting technical assistance solutions for the recovery of degraded ecosystems, damaged or destroyed by different infrastructures, activities, constructions, etc.
Ecological restoration is a fundamental tool to achieve biodiversity conservation, mitigate and adapt to climate change, improve ecosystem services, promote sustainable socio-economic development and improve human health and well-being” (SER)
