Background
Gevers Landscape Architecture is a leading landscape architecture firm for design, planning and supervision, responsible for several landmark projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
We are currently searching for experienced and qualified people in the field of horticulture to assist as required with supervising landscape projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia over a period of the next four – five years. You will working as part of the consultant’s team, as one of 3 horticulturists.
The responsibility relates to supervising all softscape work of the contractor, for instance:
Supervising general nursery operations and requirements to fulfil the contract requirements
Supervising propagation from seeds and cuttings
Approving selecting trees, shrubs and ground covers from external suppliers
Supervising care of plants in the nursery
Supervising planting operations on site.
Responsibilities include:
Conduct regular meetings
Identifying problems and offering solutions how to mitigate them.
Assuring compliance with standards, review methodology, progress and logic sequence.
Checking construction, growth or treatment methods proposed and Inspecting work or materials.
Warn clients of problems or possible cost implications.
Reporting regarding schedules and deadlines.
Positions Required
Type of Position: Freelance (autónomo)
Location: Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Project Duration: 4-5 years
Position 1:
- Horticulturist – total requirement 8 months per year. (remaining time not paid)
- Deployment approx.:
- 100% during October-April
- 50% during May-September.
Position 2:
- Horticulturist – total requirement 6 months per year. (remaining time not paid)
- Deployment approx.:
- 100% during October-April.
Qualification Stipulated
Recognized Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture or B.SC.Arch or B.Sc. Arch Tech (Landscape)
Minimum Experience 10 years.
Work experience in Middle East an advantage, but not a requirement.
Remuneration
- Approx. Euro 5,000.00 – Euro 5,500 / full month worked (depending on qualification or experience).
- Invoicing based on actual time worked in KSA
- Invoice periods 60 days.
- Payment will be in Saudi Riyal, fixed on the exchange rate of December 2021.
- In addition a separate budget covers accommodation, flights and car rental for periods in KSA.
Personal requirements and cost
Vaccination status for Covid according to requirements stipulated by KSA (3 Vaccines)
Visa cost
Medical cover for periods abroad is compulsory and should Covid treatment.
Own tools, (laptop) .
Knowledge in relevant programs such as MS Office (Word and Excel) AutoCad an advantage
English speaking and writing.
International driver’s licence.
Previous work experience abroad will be an advantage.
